Every seller wants to get as much money as possible for their home. So today, I’ve got four value-raising tactics that will help you sell for top dollar.


1. Make ordinary updates. These simple improvements, like getting rid of wood rot and adding fresh coats of paint to your home, can go a long way. Buyers tend to look carefully over the home they’re thinking of purchasing. Therefore, it’s good to look over every inch of your home and see what you can update without breaking the bank.

2. Remodel your kitchen. Repainting the walls, installing energy-efficient appliances, and updating the backsplash can all add value.

3. Improve your outdoor environment. A great outdoor space can make or break a sale, so consider updating your landscaping. Tidying up your lawn will make your home appear much more attractive. You can also undertake larger projects like building a deck or outdoor seating area.

4. Prioritize energy efficiency. An increasing number of today’s homebuyers are looking for energy efficiency in their homes. Consider making updates to your home that will lower your energy costs. As a few examples, you could install insulation, replace your windows, or buy Energy Star appliances.
